Production

Delivering world class wireless optical connectivity is dependent on two critical pillars. On one hand it relies on FSO Instruments’ highly capable product designs. On the other hand it needs a strong foundation of a high tech manufacturing infrastructure that can deliver reliably and in volume. Together with our partners, we are realizing exactly this combination: products that perform, that are designed for reliable volume manufacturing, that are built in world-class high tech manufacturing facilities, with the support of an extremely capable supply chain and ecosystem.

Industrialization

At FSO Instruments, we are shaping the future of opto-mechatronic systems for space applications. We work closely within a strong ecosystem of high-tech companies and knowledge institutes in and around the Netherlands. They support us in our mission to provide laser satellite communication, Ready for Prime Time. Utilizing the core competencies of our partners, often built around semiconductor manufacturing equipment, enables us to provide scalable and reliable industrial solutions for bringing space technology to the market.

Manufacturing

One of our key contract manufacturing partners is global development and Manufacturing company VDL Enabling Technologies Group (VDL ETG). They have a longstanding track record in supplying advanced high-tech components, modules, and systems to leading companies across various high-tech sectors. With over 55,000 m² of cleanroom surface area varying from ISO 5 to 7, 300,000 m² of production surface area, and a team of more than 5,000 technical professionals, FSO has a reliable supply chain and contract manufacturing partner in VDL ETG.

This cooperation gives FSO access to cutting-edge facilities for high-precision milling, turning, welding, metrology, and cleanroom assembly – ensuring the highest standards in high-tech manufacturing. With extensive expertise in complex opto-mechatronics and satellite systems, our partner enables scalable, high-quality manufacturing for applications such as optical laser communication and full satellite assembly, integration, and testing.

Technology Roadmap

Our roadmap is supported by TNO and NLR, two leading Dutch research organizations. Their contributions ensure that FSO stays at the forefront of technological development, from concept to implementation.

World class high-tech ecosystem

The strength of the FSO Instrument ecosystem lies in its seamless integration of capabilities: VDL ETG, as our contract manufacturing partner, enables scalable production. Demcon contributes contract R&D to ensure smooth execution, while TNO and NLR enable FSO’s technology roadmap. This triple helix of supply chain partners enables FSO to reach its full potential, ensuring the success of every delivery.
